Holly joined us as our Product Manager in November 2018 and has since overseen the expansion of our Appleton Range – including our excellent line of Appleton Benchtop Equipment, all covered by the Appleton Promise. She ensures we always have the right products available for our customers; whether that be existing lines or new ones! Learn more about Holly below:

1. How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Oooh, that’s a tough one… I’d probably go with cheerful, sensitive and stubborn!

2. What is your position at Appleton Woods and what does that entail?

I’m the Product Manager and that involves looking after the entire product range at Appleton Woods but predominantly bringing onboard new and exciting products! I also have a lot of involvement with marketing which I enjoy, especially if I can shoe-horn in a good pun every now and then!

3. As Product Manager, what is your favourite product and why?

I’d probably have to say the appZAP (UV pipette carousel). I like to try and onboard products that are innovative and not available from lots of other suppliers, also it has the best name! Who wouldn’t want an appZAP sat on their bench?

4. What kind of things do you like to do for fun!

I love to travel, eat out, go for days out with the kids, watch movies, and keep fit by jogging (although that’s not always fun!)

5. Have you faced any challenges around product development during Covid?

Yes! There have been many challenges but the main two are supply issues and increased costs and delays in shipping those products that we import.

6. Have you got any holidays planned post covid!

We’ve decided to rule out a holiday abroad this summer but have booked some time in Devon and Cornwall so very much looking forward to that!

7. Can we expect any new and exciting products to launch soon…

8. As we know you are a massive Harry Potter fan, who is your fav character!

I’d probably have to go with good old Dumbledore. In fact our family dog is named after him – Albus Dumbledog or Albie for short!

9. Where do you see yourself within 5 years at the company?

First female director at Appleton Woods? ?

10. Lastly, if you could give some advice to your ‘younger’ self, what would it be?

Travel more and worry less!
