Happy New Year from Appleton Woods
As in previous years here at Appleton Woods we have decided to donate £500 to charity rather than send out Christmas cards. Christmas and the New Year can be a difficult time for some, so we have chosen three charities that are close to our hearts.
Breast Cancer Research
Around 150 women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer every day. The good news is around two-thirds of women will survive. This is thanks to all the support and research done by the Breast Cancer Research Charity to diagnose and treat this disease.
Edgar’s Gift
Ben Edkins was only 25 when he died from Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare blood cancer. Edgar’s Gift continues to raise funds will help and support those suffering from cancer. Dr. Stewart Sale, here at Appleton Woods has already raised hundreds of pounds for this charity by running 50 miles in less than 10 hours and will be continuing his fund-raising efforts into 2023.
The Trussell Trust
An emergency food bank parcel is given out every 13 seconds to those in need. By donating to the Trust, you’ll be helping food banks keep going this winter and provide vital support to families that are at crisis point.
