MW = 422.4 Technical Advantage: Can be autoclaved, unlike ampicillin Carbenicillin is a form of penicillin and is often used in place of ampicillin because it maintains stability after being autoclaved. Like ampicillin, carbenicillin interferes with cell-wall synthesis of actively growing cells.
