At Appleton Woods, giving back to our local community is something we care deeply about. That's why we're delighted to announce our new charity partnership with Acorns Children's Hospice. 

Acorns provides specialist care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, while also supporting their families through some of life's most difficult moments. The charity's work helps families make precious memories together and ensure they receive the care and support they need when they need it most. 

Through this partnership, we hope to support the incredible work carried out by Acorns while helping to raise awareness of the difference the charity makes every day. 

Why We Chose Acorns Children's Hospice

When choosing a charity partner, it was important to find an organisation whose values align with our own. Acorns Children's Hospice stood out because of the compassionate care it provides and the positive impact it has on so many families across the region. 

As a supplier to the scientific and healthcare sectors, much of what we do supports the vital research, testing and innovation that helps improve lives and advance our understanding of disease. Every day, we provide the laboratories, researchers and healthcare professionals we work with the tools they need to make discoveries, develop treatments and drive progress. 

However, we also recognise that for many families, the challenges they face are happening right now. While research offers hope for the future, charities such as Acorns provide essential care, comfort and support in the present. Supporting Acorns allows us to play a small part in helping families through some of their most difficult moments, and that is something we feel incredibly passionate about.

How the Charity Partnership Will Make a Difference

The Appleton Woods charity partnership will create opportunities for our employees, customers, suppliers, and wider network to get involved in supporting an important local charity. 

Alongside future fundraising activities, we hope to help raise awareness of the services Acorns provides and highlight the vital role it plays within our community. Many people may not realise the breadth of support available through the hospice, and we want to help change that. 

Just as importantly, this partnership gives us the chance to bring people together around a shared purpose. Whether through fundraising events, awareness campaigns, or community initiatives, we look forward to creating opportunities for people to support Acorns in ways that are meaningful and engaging. 

Our Fundraising Goals and Plans

Over the coming year, we have set ourselves an ambitious fundraising goal of £10,000 in support of Acorns Children's Hospice. 

To help us reach this target, our team will be taking part in a variety of fundraising activities. From company challenges and community events to team-led initiatives and awareness campaigns, we are looking forward to coming together to support this fantastic cause while having some fun along the way. 

We also want to allow our customers, suppliers and wider network to get involved. Throughout the partnership, there will be many fundraising initiatives and opportunities for those who wish to support both Appleton Woods and Acorns Children's Hospice. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help Acorns continue providing vital care and support to children and families across our region.
