My parents, Derek and June Brown founded this company, with help from Arthur Appleton and Stan Woods, back in 1967. They would be as pleased as I am to see Appleton Woods Ltd flourishing with the energy and enthusiasm of today’s great team.

I joined Appleton Woods in 2024 with almost ten years of experience in growth and business development across multiple sectors. I am extremely proud to be working for the business founded by my grandparents with such a fantastic group of people.

I joined Appleton Woods in 2010 in Customer Services and developed my career into Operations, I ensure the site is running like clockwork. I oversee Compliance, Customer Service, Sustainability and Logistics.

Having worked in the Laboratory Distribution market for over 36 years, I have a passion for sourcing and developing new products. Working here is the perfect opportunity to do this, so much so I’ve worked here twice during my career!

I’ve been with Appleton Woods over 4 years, beginning in Customer Services and transitioning to sales. I enjoy meeting our valued customers, and providing them with support and competitively priced market-leading lab products.

After starting in Customer Service, I’ve moved into Internal Sales - I now focus on helping our customers with tailored solutions and smooth order handling. I still enjoy solving problems, answering questions, and putting Nathan's moustache to shame.

I’m a bioengineering graduate with experience across biotech, quality, and commercial roles, combining strong scientific understanding with a practical, customer-focused mindset. I enjoy working closely with labs to understand their challenges and provide practical solutions that move their work forward.

I joined Appleton Woods in August 2022 as a management accountant and the head of finance. All finance duties flow through me, from bookkeeping to providing analysis for strategic decisions.

I started working at Appleton Woods after applying to an advert in the local newspaper. 20 years later and I’m now senior Warehouse Operative, which means I’m still allowed to stick labels on boxes.
