Description
Capricorn Scientific offer a range of selection antibiotics used in transfection – these include:
- Blasticidin S is used as a selection antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria and eukaryotes. Transformed cells containing the resistance genes bls, bsr, or BSD can be selected.
- G-418 Solution is used as a selection antibiotic in cell culture. It blocks polypeptide synthesis. Transformed cells containing the neomycin resistance genes neo can be selected.
- Hygromycin B solution is a selection antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Transformed cells containing the hygromycin resistance gene (hyg or hph) can be selected.
- Puromycin is a selection antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Transformed cells containing the puromycin N-acetyl-transferase gene (pac) can be selected.
