Appleton Woods New Year’s Statement

Happy New Year!

I would like to wish all our customers, suppliers and other business partners a happy and healthy 2021.  It’s not been a great start with the country going into a further national lockdown and the prospect of some particularly bleak months ahead. Hopefully, the roll-out of the vaccination programme will bring some welcome relief as we move towards the Spring.

In the meantime, we are continuing our operations as normally as possible. We have the minimum essential team working safely at our operating centre in Birmingham, with the rest of our staff working remotely from their homes. We have invested in our IT and telephone infrastructure to support this new way of working. Supply of certain products continues to be problematic, but our technical sales and customer service team have risen to the challenge and are providing good alternatives to customers where there are shortages.  Our operations and finance staff are doing a great job in maintaining supplies, despite Covid restrictions and Brexit uncertainties.  Our customers in Northern Ireland have not been forgotten, and we continue to supply goods to them.

We have focussed our product management efforts on providing solutions for Covid-19 testing and research, across all product categories – Reagents, Consumables and Equipment. Please see our web pages at and for a focussed view of these products.  A particular highlight is our partnership with Siemens Healthineers and the CLINITEST Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test which gives results within 15 minutes.

I would like to say a big thank you to our customers for your continuing support during the pandemic, and your understanding when we haven’t been able to meet our normal supply service levels. And many thanks also to the Appleton Woods team for trying so hard!
