- Appleton FBS is sterile filtered and tested for viruses and microorganisms
- Heat inactivation inactivates the complement system and many enzymes in the serum
- Particularly suitable for use in immunoassays or certain enzyme tests. It is also suitable for all conventional applications such as an additive to cell culture media, as a stabiliser or for a coating culture vessels
- Serum is heated to +56°C for 30 minutes in a controlled environment
